Major topics include: Covalent, ionic and metallic bonding; molecular structure and polarity; Bronsted-Lowry, Lewis, and hard/soft acid and base theory; symmetry and group theory; periodic trends; structures, isomers, ligand field theory, spectra, and reactions of transition metal coordination compounds; bonding and reactions of organometallic compounds; and the biological and medicinal roles of metal ions.
