Prerequisite(s): EAES 101, EAES 105 or EAES 107. Introduction to the physical and optical properties, chemistry, structure, and significance of common rock-forming minerals. Applied analytical techniques include optical microscopy, xray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEMEDS). Required field trips.
