Prerequisite(s): Departmental approval. This course will provide students with the tools to identify potential grant sources, to evaluate projects and stakeholder needs, to understand the dynamics and challenges of access to funding sources, and the skills to draft effective grant proposals. Students will study successful grant proposals, meet with funders, grantees, and other community stakeholders to develop a full understanding of how grants function in context. Students will receive draft feedback and instruction in editing and style, and they will develop a full grant proposal that targets an opportunity relevant to their interests.
