Trauma Informed Practices to Promote Social Emotional Development in Educational Settings

The purpose of this course is to provide future educators, professionals, and administrators in P-12 and higher educational settings with an overview of trauma- informed practices in educational settings that support the social emotional development of all students. Students will explore the core tenets of trauma informed practices that include social emotional development, and how to address systemically through whole school initiatives, individual classrooms, and across content areas. Students will also learn how to implement and evaluate these practices. Note: Students must have an AS in Education Degree to enroll in this course.
