Survey of World Literature

Prerequisite: COM101This course will introduce students to a number of outstanding authors of various nationalities, ethnicities, races, and historical periods, ancient to modern, and to the major works of literature these writers produced. Students will study various literary genres and focus on both the enduring qualities of the selected masterpieces and on their ralationship to the times and the cultures in which they were written. Several papers, either research or brief critiques, are required.This course fulfills the graduation diversity requirement.
