Fundamentals of Musicianship

This course is designed for students with little or no prior musical training. Students will gain a working knowledge of the fundamentals of music from the ground up, including notation of pitch and rhythm, and basic precepts of music such as key signatures, scales, and chords. Rudimentary ear training, sight-singing, and keyboard skills will also be developed. This course requires no previous musical experience; successful completion of this course will provide a foundation for the further study of music theory.
