Management of Neurological Disorders across the Lifespan

This course will focus on the characteristics and treatment of pediatric and adult neurological disorders, as well as their impact on human motor development. Students will be taught the concepts of motor control and motor learning development, as well as the theory and practical application of treatment interventions utilized for the treatment of patients with neurological disorders. The focus will be on patient function including assessment instruments used to identify and document architectural barriers and the level of assistance needed for performance of activities of daily living. Skills learned in the lab will be tested to a level of competence throughout the semester.
