International Terrorism

This course explores the historical development of international terrorism and provides a foundational knowledge of current terrorist groups and their tactics. Specifically, this course introduces the student to the definition, origin, and evolution of international terrorism; the roles of world-views, ideologies, mind sets, and motivations; and the different types of terrorism. Students will also study the organization, tactics, operational capabilities and threats posed by terrorist groups. Finally, the course will introduce the current status of anit- and counterterrorism efforts in the United States.
