Assessment I: Psychometrics and Cognitive Testing

This course is part of the two-course sequence and provides the foundational knowledge needed to critically evaluate test measures and their uses. In additiona. students will gain exposure to a wide range of cognitive assessment tools and strategies. Students will be taught the basic assessment skills necessary to conduct an initial consultation regarding cognitive issues, test selection, standardized test administration, test scoring & interpretaation using appropriate normative data while considering cultural factors, integrative report writing, and communications of results and treatment recommendations. Students will gain also be introduced to ethical and professional issues related to cognitive assessment, and they will be expected to demostrate their skills as part of their classroom experience.
