PHOTOGRAPHY: FILM AND DARKROOM I

Prerequisite: Introduction to 2D Design (ARTV 1161 or ARTV 1165) or Introduction to 2D Digital Design (ARTV 1164 or ARTV 1167) or Introduction to Drawing (ARTV 1162 or ARTV 1166). Must have 35mm film camera. Formerly titled Black and White Photography. Arts course (A). This course uses analog materials for the fundamentals of black and white photography, camera handling, film processing, and printing. Emphasis upon using the medium within the traditions of modernism (as a means of understanding the history of the medium) and contemporary art practice. Students provide manually adjustable 35mm camera, film, and paper. Faculty: W. White
