GRAPHIC DESIGN I

Prerequisite: Introduction to 2D Design (ARTV 1161 or ARTV 1165) or Introduction to 2D Digital Design (ARTV 1164 or ARTV 1167). Arts Course (A). Provides an overview of art and design for visual communications. Emphasis is placed on conceptual and technical study of typographic syntax and application. Problem-solving methods, verbal/visual conceptual skills, technique, and craft are developed through a series of problems that parallel the professional world. Assignments in typographical composition, logo design, sequential layout, type and image, and single and double page layout are given utilizing computer and traditional design tools. Faculty: M.
