PAINTING FROM OBSERVATION

Prerequisite: Introduction to 2D Design (ARTV 1161 or ARTV 1165) or Introduction to 2D Digital Design (ARTV 1164 or ARTV 1167), Introduction to Drawing (ARTV 1162 or ARTV 1166), ARTV 2161 or Permission of Instructor and (ARTV 2920 or ARTV Portfolio Review Y). Arts Course (A). This painting course is an intensive study of color, light, and form through direct observation. Emphasis is on diverse traditional and contemporary methods, including glazing, direct painting, and color mixing. Subjects range from the traditional, including figure and landscape, to a variety of student-initiated forms.
