This course will provide the chemical foundation needed for students who require an understanding of a wide range of chemistry topics but do not intend to major in science. The first semester will consider general topics such as measurements, the periodic table, chemical reactions and chemical bonds, gases, solutions, and acids and bases. Introductory topics in organic chemistry are also included. Laboratory work is included in the additional meeting of this course.
