INTRODUCTION TO MASS COMMUNICATION

This course is designed to introduce students to important principles of mass communication and media studies. Examining a range of media products and processes, students will come to understand the role of mass media in society and the broader cultural influence of mass media industries, and will gain greater critical media literacy. Students will also gain familiarity with the specific study of Communication at Stockton, including our particular emphasis on Communication as Storytelling, in which each of our three available tracks of study are rooted. This is a required course for all Communication Studies majors. Students wishing to declare the major must first be enrolled in this course. Faculty: Communication Studies Faculty
