MEDIA IN TIMES OF WAR

Prerequisite: COMM 1201 with a minimum grade of C and one of the following courses with a minimum grade of C: COMM 2211, COMM 2204, COMM 2408, COMM 2409, COMM 2414, COMM 3203, COMM 3306, COMM 3309, COMM 3400. With an emphasis on propaganda, journalism, and commemoration, this course examines the complex historical and contemporary relationships among war, popular media, and public opinion. Students will engage a variety of media texts to critically consider popular media’s impact in times of war, and its aftermath, in the 20th and 21st centuries. This course may be offered in sections with a W2 designation. Faculty: C. Morus
