This course explores the role and function of the police in modern society, the organizational structure of police agencies, relations between the police and the communities that they serve, and contemporary policing practices. The course introduces issues in policing and policing innovations such as Community Policing, Intelligence-led Policing, and Problem-Oriented Policing.
