ECOLOGICAL ECONOMICS

Ecological Economics is an interdisciplinary field of research that integrates the study and management of human economies and natural ecosystems over time and space. The field treats the economy as a subsystem of the ecosystem and places heavy emphasis on preserving natural capital via sustainable practices and policies. The field is generally critical of the notion that natural and human-made capital are substitutable. Faculty: O. COOKE
