THEORY AND FOUNDATIONS OF LITERACY

This course is designed to provide teachers with fundamental reading skills needed to teach the Common Core Standards for English Language Arts. Specifically, this course addresses the reading standards in the Common Core Standards which place equal emphasis on the sophistication of what students read and the skill with which they read. Furthermore, teachers will emphasize developmental and assessment strategies to determine successful reading strategies for all students in all content areas. Faculty: R. TINSLEY
