Recommended for Senior level ENVL students who have completed two 3000+ level ENVL courses. Students will analyze, individually and in teams, a series of current environmental issues at the global, national and local events. Issues will be examined from the viewpoints of ecology, geography, economics and ethics. Examples may include biodiversity, toxic and hazardous waste, land use decisions, economic development and environmental justice. Students will discuss key readings in environmental philosophy and ethics and prepare briefs on several topics. PREREQUISITES: ENVL 2100/2105 and ENVL 2200/2205 and ENVL 2400 and ENVL 2600 all with a grade of C or better. COREQUISITES: ENVL 4305. RESTRICTIONS: Seniors (SR) only. ATTRIBUTES: Values/Ethics.
