PERSPECTIVES ON CHILDHOOD

Open only to freshmen. This is a freshman seminar. This course is open to students from all majors and is the foundations course for the Childhood Studies minor. An overview of childhood will be investigated from historical, developmental, and contemporary perspectives. Critical thinking will be emphasized when examining topics such as environmental, economic, political, educational, social, cultural, and global issues affecting children and children’s rights. Social media, the arts and literature, and their effects on childhood will also be explored. Faculty: C. Tang
