INTRODUCTION TO LIBERAL STUDIES

This course, especially for students who are re-entering academic study, offers an introduction to the history and value of liberal education and interdisciplinary study as well as the use of technology for basic research. Students conduct self-assessment and goal-setting exercises and develop a specific and coherent plan of study to meet their learning and career objectives. This course also introduces the student to the Essential Learning Outcomes (ELOs) through the creation of an electronic portfolio, a project that will be used to demonstrate interdisciplinary learning and achievement of ELOs.
