This course investigates New Jersey's celebrated wilderness, which is one of the most intriguing natural areas in all of North America. Readings, discussions, and walks explore the past, present, and future of New Jersey's Pine Barrens—including the region’s geological and human history, living plants and animals, and current controversies of land use and conservation. Students will gain a border understanding and appreciation of South Jersey’s environmental dynamics through regular field trips, on- and off-campus. In conclusion students will participate in poster session at Kramer Hall in Hammonton.<br> <i>Faculty: STAFF</i>
