DISABILITIES AND DIGNITY

Open to freshmen only. This is a freshman seminar. This course explores the lives of people living with disabilities in America. We will examine the rights and services guaranteed to them, as well as the challenges they face. Particular emphasis is given to the social implications of being disabled; the challenges individuals with disabilities face in maintaining their dignity in a society that does not universally embrace and value them as contributors to our society.
