DEATH AND DYING

Not open to freshmen. The course examines people's experience with and attitudes toward dying, death and bereavement in two ways: 1) within historical, cultural contexts; and 2) through a developmental perspective. Contemporary legal and ethical issues are also explored. The course expects students to develop an awareness of their own beliefs, values and perspectives regarding the dying process and death; and to learn from others' perspectives. Faculty: M. COLON
