1930'S AMERICA

Prerequisite: Open only to juniors and seniors. Historical consciousness course (H). During the Great Depression (1929-1939), the US experienced profound economic distress. This seminar will draw on oral history, photography, film, radio, theatre, visual art, and literature to explore how culture (broadly defined) both preserved and challenged the status quo in 1930’s America.
