ABSN CHILDBEARING / CHILDREARING

Open only to Accelerated BSN majors. Prerequisite: NURS 3150 and NURS 3155. Co-requisite: NURS 3355. Roy's Model provides the framework for understanding the adaptation processes of the childbearing and childrearing family. Students will apply principles of health promotion, disease prevention, health restoration, health maintenance, and end of life care when developing safe plans of care for neonates, infants, children, adolescents, pregnant women and other adult family members living in a culturally diverse society. Family members who are experiencing uncomplicated psychosocial and physiological adaptation demands will be the target population and recipients of care. The nursing process is fully implemented.
