This course is the second of two required level II fieldwork courses. Successful completion of all course work including successful completion of 1st level II placement, all pre-required fieldwork assignments; and recommendation of the Program. Open only to MSOT graduate students. Level II fieldwork consists of two 12-week, full-time clinical experiences in different settings. The goal of Level II fieldwork is to develop competent, entry-level, generalist occupational therapists. The intent of fieldwork at this level is to provide the broadest exposure to the field with experiences across the lifespan and in a variety of settings or treatment models. For this reason, students are assigned to one setting that has a medical orientation serving a specific population, and the second assignment is oriented to a community-based setting or is with a population that is substantially different from the other assignment. Level II fieldwork is an in-depth experience in delivering occupational therapy services to clients, which focuses on the application of purposeful and meaningful occupation as intervention, and which incorporates experience with administration and management of occupational therapy services.
