INTRODUCTION TO PUBLIC HEALTH

Fall semesters. This course will introduce students to the core public health functions including the Ten Essential Services; public health history, philosophy and values; and the qualitative and quantitative methods used in research and practice,  with a focus on health equity. Students will examine the interconnectedness of population and individual health and the various determinants of health, drawing from case studies and contemporary  public health issues using local, regional, national and global perspectives.
