SCRIPT STRUCTURE FUNDAMENTALS

Required for all first-year Theatre students. Historical Consciousness Course (H). This course gives participants an introduction to the key elements of script structure, demonstrating how all scripts begin with a well-structured story. Students will study a wide range of theatre and film scripts, learning the basics of key concepts including the three-act structure, the use of dramatic irony, the hero's journey, story types and genres, as well as the history of storytelling and other concepts that are essential to contemporary storytelling.
